Dan Rather To Appeal Court’s Decision On Lawsuit Against CBS

September 29, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – As reported, Dan Rather has lost his lawsuit against CBS. However, he has said he will be appealing the decision.

Rather has been financing the lawsuit himself, and says that he plans on continuing on from here, despite the court’s decision.

“We are extremely disappointed with the Appellate Court’s decision. We believe the decision is incorrect on a number of grounds and, accordingly, we intend to ask the New York Court of Appeals to review it,” Martin R. Gold, Rather’s lead attorney, was quoted as saying.

Rather has been using the lawsuit as a platform against corporate influence in media reporting. He claims to have become a scapegoat after CBS attempted to backout of running a story in 2004 about Bush’s time in the National Guard, where he was allegedly placed to avoid going to Vietnam.
