Rihanna To Speak on Chris Brown’s Assault - Timing a Bit Suspicious

(ChattahBox) — It’s being hyped that Rihanna is going to give her first spoken words publicly on the Chris Brown’s assault in a special interview with ABC. The network promo teases over shots of the sultry singer performing on stage “Now, for the very first time, Rihanna tells HER story.” Rihanna’s one-on-one interview with Diane Sawyer, will air this week, Thursday and Friday on “Good Morning America” and Friday evening on the news magazine “20/20.” The cynic in me thinks perhaps it’s no coincidence that Rihanna’s ABC interview seems well timed with the debut of her new single, “Russian Roulette,” from her upcoming album, “Rated R.” It’s her first CD since 2007’s multiplatinum “Good Girl Gone Bad.” There has been plenty of opportunities for Rihanna to speak out previously. The assault by Brown, her boyfriend at the time occurred in February and he was sentenced in August.
