Right-Wing Blogger Whines About Oscar the Grouch’s Left Agenda

November 5, 2009

(ChattahBox)—In recent days the blogosphere has been reporting on the right-wing’s latest made up controversy, claiming that the venerable children’s educational show, Sesame Street and the Muppet character Oscar the Grouch, are in league with that Socialist fellow at the White House to indoctrinate our children. A blogger named “Stage Right” recently whined on the conservative anti-Obama site, Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Hollywood” that a two-year old episode of Sesame Street, featuring a news media parody skit, where Fox News is referred to, as “Pox News” and a “trashy news show,” is a plot by the left “to undermine my [parental] authority.”

Good grief! First, the right wing goes after ACORN, commie Czars and now Oscar the Grouch?

The episode in question shows Oscar the Grouch acting as a reporter for GNN, the Grouchy News Network. When one of his puppet celebrity guests kisses Oscar, an irate viewer calls in saying: “I am changing the channel,” the viewer complains. “From now on I am watching ‘Pox’ News. Now there is a trashy news show.”

The right-wing Breitbart blogger, whined that half of all parents watch Fox News and that criticizing the conservative network on a children’s show undermines parental authority to properly raise a right-wing child:

“If Mom and Dad watch cable news, it’s better than 50/50 they watch ‘POX News,’” the blogger pens. “So what gives? PBS — a network partially funded with my tax dollars — has the right to tell my kids that their parents watch “trashy” news?

The right-wing blogger goes on to complain:

“The message is clear, I can’t even sit my kids in front of “Sesame Street” without having to worry about the Left attempting to undermine my authority. And don’t tell me, “If you don’t like it change the channel.” There are no channels left! It’s everywhere. Just last week I had Obama’s service and volunteerism promoted on every single major network, including Disney and Nickelodeon.…by the way, why SHOULD I change the channel? This is MY channel, I’m paying for it!”

Why is the blogoshpere even bothering to lend this crazy blogger such notoriety? Granted, the blogger’s rant against poor old grumpy Oscar the Grouch is ludicrous, but why am I even writing about this fake controversy myself?

On second thought, don’t even read this post and don’t watch the video provided below, or your head may explode.

I think he’s confused. What he meant to say was that parents with only half a brain watch Faux News so that they can be properly indoctrinated by the fascist right-wing authorities.

This administration has definitely been pushing their own agenda. A children’s show has no business pushing one side or the other’s agenda on these children’s impressionable wills. That is just wrong and it is a dangerous thing to do. The administration has proven that they are going to push bills through whether the people are for it or against it.

The best thing liberals are doing these days are waking conservatives up out of their sleep. God Bless the liberals for that.
