UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar recuperating at home after surgery

(ChattahBox) — As we previously reported, there has been a lot of concern for UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who has been hospitalized due to mono and a mysterious intestinal disorder after he collapsed in Canada. UFC president Dana White was forced to make an announcement, a week or so ago at UFC 105, and his prognosis was bleak. Since then, White revealed that Lesnar has been dealing with his internal illness for a year. UFC president Dana White said this past Thursday that Lesnar had a “hole in in intestine” that was causing a leak into his stomach, which caused pain for Lesnar. “The doctor told him he hasn’t been right for a year,” White said. “His immune system has been trying to fight this thing and that’s why he was susceptible to getting sick.”But now, Lesnar a former NCAA wrestling champion and pro wrestling star, is back home in Minnesota recuperating from surgery with a more positive prognosis for the future, according to his coach. “He’s at home now, much better than he was,” Lesnar’s coach Greg Nelson, head instructor at the Minnesota Mixed Martial Arts Academy, said Wednesday. According to a TMZ source who is friends with the champ, Lesnar will be ready to fight again within six months. But Nelson has cautioned there was “no definitive answer” yet whether Lesnar would require surgery in the future.
