(ChattahBox) – Former NBA star Jayson Williams who is awaiting a manslaughter retrial in New Jersey, is in deeper trouble now. He has now been charged with drunken driving after his SUV veered off an exit ramp and struck a tree at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. TMZ is reporting Williams fractured his neck in the accident, and is being held in the prison ward of Bellevue Hospital Center in New York. Jail will likely be his next destination as prosecutors in his manslaughter retrial have been in touch with Williams’ lawyers and they will move to revoke his bail.Williams retired from the New Jersey Nets in 2000, unable to overcome a broken leg suffered a year earlier. He later became an NBA analyst for NBC, but lost that gig, after a hired limo driver was shot to death in his house in February 2002. Williams was also hospitalized last year, after hotel staff called police believing Williams might be “suicidal, after he trashed and wouldn’t come out of his room.
