Alexander McQueen Found Dead In London

February 11, 2010

UK (ChattahBox) – Legendary fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead this morning in his London home at the age of 40.

While police have not released a possible cause of death, they say the circumstances do not appear to be suspicious.

McQueen has been a leading figure in the fashion world for decades.

In 2003 he was given the status of a Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his influence over the fashion world.

“McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs,” British Vogue writer Alexandra Shulma said.

“At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashions shows that mixed design, technology and performance and on another he was a modern day genius whose gothic aesthetic was adopted by women the world over.”

McQueen leaves behind a husband, George Forsyth.
