Leno to Have Palin, Lindsey Vonn, ‘Jersey Shore’ On Tonight Show Return
February 23, 2010
(ChattahBox)— Jay Leno’s staffers have been busy these past two weeks booking a diverse group of guests for his return as host of The Tonight Show, including the dim but entertaining cast from the popular reality show “Jersey Shore” and U.S. Olympians, skier Lindsey Vonn and snowboarder Shaun White. But the big draw is the former half-term governor of Alaska, vice presidential candidate, Fox News contributor and thin-skinned Facebook pugilist Sarah Palin, who is scheduled to sit next to Leno on Tuesday, March 1.
A divisive personality like Sarah Palin is sure to draw a large audience; in the same way that an appearance by a three-headed monkey would attract a crowd.
Also scheduled for Jay’s first week back at The Tonight Show’s desk are, American Idol’s Simon Cowell, reality show personality Kim Kardashian, comedian Jamie Foxx and country singer Brad Paisley.
Leno’s return to late night, came after a very public and highly vitriolic battle between NBC, Leno and Conan O’Brien, which ended with O’Brien’s exit as host of The Tonight Show, after a brief stint of only seven-months. Many viewers blamed Leno for O’Brien’s exit, attacking him as selfish, since he agreed to retire and hand over the historic late night franchise to O’Brien.
Leno’s first show as The Tonight Show host airs on March 1, after the closing of the Vancouver Olympics.
