March 5, 2010
(ChattahBox)—With Oscar fever hitting Los Angeles this weekend, the contents of the annual Oscar nominee gift bag have been disclosed and there is no sign of a recession in sight. The swag bag put together by the marketing firm Distinctive Assets, is valued at $85,000 and is packed with luxurious trips, including an island vacation to Turks & Caicos and an African Safari with a private chef. Other goodies, include a $4,000 limited edition luxury Leather Travel Bag from Victorinox, a HGTV Green Home Mattress Collection by Serta and gourmet chocolates. The “Everybody Wins at the Oscars” nominee gift baskets are given to candidates for best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress and best director. And for those of you who are collecting unemployment checks and eating Ramen noodles as you read this, there may be some consolation in the knowledge that the Hollywood stars receiving all of this cool swag have to pay taxes on their loot.
Rounding out the trips tucked away in the loot bag, is a $14,500 four-night resort stay in a seaside suite with breakfast in bed at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel and a $7,000 three-night all-inclusive rustic getaway to Winvian Luxury Hotel in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut.
And the Oscar goodie bag doesn’t leave out the pampered pets of the Hollywood stars. The Hollywood pets are awarded with a Tiffany crystal-studded cat collar, a professional dog studio photography package and an assortment of all-natural designer dog toys, bowls and leashes from Petprojekt.
Among the unusual gifts are, an iFLY indoor skydiving experience, and chocolate-dipped bacon. And to ensure that the nominees maintain their minty fresh breath, the gift bag contains a year’s supply of Altoids Smalls.
