Christiane Amanpour Picked To Host ‘This Week’ On ABC

(ChattahBox) – CNN international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, is jumping to ABC, to  anchor the networks ‘s Sunday morning public affairs program, “This Week.”  Amanpour, one of CNN’s best-known personalities for her international reporting over the past two decades will leave CNN in April, and will start in August, replacing George Stephanopoulos.  He left the show in December to take over as co-host of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”  After being based in London for many years, Amanpour moved to the United States three years ago to be with her husband, former U.S. State Department spokesman James Rubin. She  is currently host of a weekday show that airs on the CNN International network. ABC News’ Jake Tapper will host “This Week” until Amanpour takes over.
