‘Superman’ Comic Brings In A Super $1.5 Million

March 30, 2010

(ChattahBox) – An original copy of Action Comics No 1 from 1938, where Superman is first introduced, has earned an incredible $1.5 million at auction.

The auction was held on Comic Connection, a website dedicated to comic book sales.

“The book looks like it just came off the presses yesterday,” site co-owner, Vincent Zurzolo, said in a statement.

“The colors are extremely vivid, the whites behind the ‘Action Comics’ logo are snow white. It’s just a stunning copy — it almost looks brand new.”

The anonymous buyer bought the copy a few months after another of the same type was sold for a million dollars back in February. That copy was in worst condition.

The comic sold is thought to be one of 50 – 100 in existence.
