Al Gore Interviewed by Portland Police Over Sexual Abuse Claims
July 28, 2010
[ChattahBox] – The story about former Presidential candidate Al Gore and his allegedly sex-tinged encounter with a Portland masseuse aren’t going away yet.
Since the story first broke on June 23 the only evidence offered by the apparent victim, Molly Hagerty, a pair of her slacks stained by Al’s bodily fluids – have tested negative for any such thing. But police in Portland, Oregon questioned Gore last Thursday, according to KATU News, in San Francisco. Hagerty claims that Gore assaulted her in a hotel room in 2006, and police reopened the investigation into the matter on July 1. Last week, the National Enquirer published the accounts of two more massage therapists who say that Gore flashed them at hotels in Tokyo and Los Angeles.
Perhaps the new allegations have re-stoked the investigation, but as far as Ms. Hagerty goes, her claims have left reporters close to the story at the Portland Tribune in great doubt that it even occurred The highlights are these:
- Ms. Hagerty first contacted the paper in March 2008 with the story, but when quizzed by a reporter she denied it was her who met Al.
- The lawyer she then tried to hire to sue Al gave her a lie-detector test to be sure of her claims. She failed it.
- The reporters spoke to two people who “strongly questioned her credibility.” And these were her two closest friends.
