deltoro_guillermo[1]James Cameron(ChattahBox) – Since giving up on the Hobbit because of production delays, Guillermo del Toro’s next directorial effort has been under speculation, but according to Deadline Hollywood, it appears to be the long-anticipated 3D adaptation of HP Lovecraft’s “At the Mountains of Madness.” James Cameron is negotiating to produce the film for Universal Pictures, and his involvement and his 3D expertise, might have been the clincher for del Toro to jump into the deal.  Del Toro who was initially attached to the film in 2004, has not confirmed whether or not he is onboard to direct, but at the Comic Con he did hint that he would “set his next film shortly, and it would be scary,” Deadline reports.  HP Lovecraft’s “At the Mountains of Madness, centers on a gruesome discovery made during a scientific expedition to the South Pole in the 1930s  hinting at the true origin of mankind having come from elder gods from another planet. Bad things happen when those life forms are awakened. Pre-production will begin in the next few weeks while principal photography will take place next summer.
