Van Halen with David Lee Roth recording new album
(ChattahBox) – Van Halen’s original line-up is said to be back together. The band recently renewed its deal with publishers Warner/Chappell and guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his drummer brother Alex revealed they are working on new material with David Lee Roth. In a statement, the group announced: “(Van Halen) is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011.” Van Halen’s original line-up are also expected to tour in the new year, according to reports.
Since the first David Lee Roth era (1974–1985), ended after recording 1984, there have been other attempts to reunite but the guys just couldn’t get along anymore. More recently, bassist Michael Anthony also left the band for controversial reasons after 31 years and there is no word whether he is part of the reunion plans, or whether guitarist Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli’s son Wolfgang Van Halen might be stepping back in.  How long will they last this time?
