Al Sharpton, a civil rights activist, was arrested on Wednesday with other protesters during a protest against the acquittal of policemen who shot 23-year old Sean Bell on his wedding day.

During the protest, Sharpton and other protesters stopped rush hour traffic, causing quite a scene to make their point clear.

They were protesting against policemen who hit Sean Bell with 50 shots on the day of his wedding.

Sharpton has been heavily involved with the Bell family ever since the shooting in 2006. Nearly 200 people were involved in the major protest.

Just one month ago, a state judge cleared two detectives of manslaughter, as well as a third of reckless endangerment in the shooting of 23-year old Bell.

Bell's fiance and two of his friends who survived the shooting were also arrested.
