‘Kick Ass’ Lives Up To Its’ Name In Action Packed Comedy Release
April 17, 2010
(ChattahBox) – I was lucky enough to see ‘Kick Ass’ last night, and I mean it when I say “Lucky”. If you couldn’t tell from the title of this review, this was one excellent film that I would suggest anyone who has a love of superheros, comedies, unique stories, good acting, or just good movies runs to see.
‘Kick Ass’ is the story or average geek Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who becomes tired of the way that criminals get away with their antics while the rest of the world watches. After getting mugged — again — and seeing a man close his blinds to keep from seeing, he concocts a plan to become a real superhero and fight the injustices of his city.
After some set backs he becomes an Internet phenomenon, attracting the attention of Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and daughter-sidekick Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz), two much more successful and deadly vigilantes fighting against the reign of local king pin Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), and his son Chris D’Amico (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), a.k.a Red Mist.
Well acted, hilarious, and thrilling, ‘Kick Ass’ is the prime example of everything that a superhero movie should be. It has great dialogue, plenty of scenes that had the audience laughing out loud, action sequences to make your eyes bulge, and some tragic moments thrown in. The comic and cliche references will have die-hard fans of the greats quite happy as well.
So, if you are looking for a great movie that will make you feel glad you spent the cash, ‘Kick Ass’ is feature for you.
