Joe Miller is in a race, you don’t want to win
October 20, 2010
(ChattahBox Op/Ed) – This late in race it’s closer than anyone would’ve thought. Just when you think there is a front runner a new leader emerges and defiantly proclaims, “I am the Most Unlikable Candidate ( MUC)!”. The field of contestants is as diverse and strong as in any campaign year. With heavyweights such as Sharon Angle, Christine O’Donnell and Rand Paul and upstarts like Ben Quayle or old pro’s like Michele Bachman you just knew it was going to be a tight race. For awhile though one candidate has been quietly pacing himself. While the others where making wild claims or proudly displaying their ignorance, Joe Miller held back. Joe Miller held back until finally he saw his opportunity to leave the pelaton and break free!Joe Miller’s emergence as a top candidate for the MUC award came this week when private security guards assaulted and handcuffed a reporter who had the audacity to question Joe Miller concerning a possible reprimand he received while working as an attorney for the Fairbanks Northstar Borough. The incident happened during a townhall meeting organized by Joe at a public school. The security firm stated the affair was on private property because Joe Miller’s campaign rented the school and therefore they had the right to detain a member of the press. That answer is absolute hogwash! Is there anything more fascist than the political oppression of the press? The right and particularly the “crazed Tea Party, wouldn’t know the constitution if it was stapled to their foreheads, but love to tout their defense of the constitution” folks, yell and scream while warning us of the fascist policies of President Obama, yet one of their own had a member of the press assaulted, handcuffed and detained. One of the first actions fascists and totalitarian regimes do once in power is to suppress and control the media. Joe’s not the first Tea Banger (yeah, I spelled it that way on purpose, if you’re going to act like a gang banger, you’re going to get labeled like one) to openly show their disdain for the free press but he is the first to attempt to physically intimidate one.
It get’s worse for Joe. As it turns out the private security guards are members of the US Army. While it’s not illegal to employ them it sure doesn’t look good. Kind a looks a little fascist doesn’t it? What about the security firm, Drop Zone Security? Reports are coming in that it’s owner, William F. Fulton is member of Alaska Citizen’s Militia who’s leader, Norm Olsen has been labeled “ by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a “radical among radicals” . It also appears as if Drop Zone Security does not a have a valid business license. Ugh, Joe, sue knows how to pick em’.
While Joe Miller’s latest boondogle would’ve put him in the same conversation as our MUC leaders it’s the rest of his MUC resume that makes him a front runner.
Here at Chattahbox.com our writers have done a great job of highlighting Joe Miller’s unsavory qualities. From possible ethics violations to his admiration of the East German border system which killed over 1100 East Germans to his extreme positions on subjects such as the minimum wage. These issues have him in a dead heat with fellow Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski who is waging a write in campaign. Imagine that, Republicans find him so radical he just may lose to a write in candidate.
So, congratulations, Joe Miller, this week you’ve surged ahead of fellow Tea Party crackpots (haha, get it? crack pot. cause tea is served in a pot. oh, forget it.) to become this week’s leader for the Most Unlikeable Candidate! Don’t think you’re a shoe in for the award with just two weeks to go until the election you’re competitors, Angle, O’Donnell, Paul, Bachman or Quayle are doing everything they can to upstage you. Keep doing what you do and hopefully you’ll do just enough for Murkowski to win in Alaska.
