Melanoma Proves To Be Deadliest On Scalp, Neck

Boston (ChattahBox) – According to a new study which has been published, the deadliest form of melanoma appears on the neck and scalp.
Melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, proving highly deadly for many victims of it.
Researchers analyzed data on 51,704 people diagnosed with melanoma in the United States from 1992 to 2003.
The found a direct link between the survival rate of patients, and the location as to where the melanoma actually began.
Researchers found that melanoma is most deadly when it begins on the scalp or neck.
This compared directly to people with melanoma on other parts of the body, including their arms, legs, face, etc.
The five-year survival rate for people with scalp or neck melanoma was at 83%, compared to 92% for those with it on other parts of the body.
The 10-year survival rate also saw a huge drop for those who had melanoma on the scalp or neck.
