They are going to study if chocolate has any positive impact on the reduction of heart disease risk.

The women in the study will be asked to eat chocolate on a daily basis for a period of one year. They will need to eat 27 grams of specially formulated chocolate each day.

Researchers will focus on the flavanoids in chocolate, which are believed to possibly reduce the risk of heart disease.

Another major focus will be women with type 2 diabetes as the researchers check to see how the chocolate will reduce their risk of heart disease.

Researchers hope the chocolate could “improve the level of protection against heart disease.”
