The salmonella outbreak, according to the CDC, has now infected 869 people, and sent over 100 people to the hospital.

The federal investigators have now ruled that it is time to look beyond tomatoes to continue the hunt for the source of the outbreak, which began in the middle of April.

The FDA is going to reportedly continue searching in locations such as Florida and Mexico, but will look at other posisble sources such as other vegetables.

The biggest problem spots have been in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, as more than half of all cases have been reported in those states.
