The New York City health department has joined up with the social networking site MySpace to help teens deal with violence, depression, and drugs.New York (ChattahBox) – The New York City health department has joined up with the social networking site MySpace to help teens deal with violence, depression, and drugs.

The New York City health department has posted a page on MySpace called NYC Teen Mindspace, with an attempt to reach out to teens in a whole new way.

They have found that the majority of teens do not want to talk to anyone about mental health issues they may have, and are also not likely to seek help from people.

The idea behind this new MySpace page is to create a place for teens to go to see help, take polls, play games, etc.

Teens can also send confidential messages to a mental health counselor from LifeNet.

They are also encouraged to call the 24-hour number 800-LifeNet if they need immediate help.
