Professors Michael Morrisey of the University of Alabama – Birmingham, and David Grabowski of Harvard Medical School carried out this study.

Their study found a 10% increase in gas price resulted in a 2.3% decrease in deaths from car accidents.

The study found that the gas prices increasing will allow us to cut down on the number of deaths from car accidents by 1,000 people each year.

This is because as gas prices go up, people drive far less for unwarranted reasons.
