This comes just after the largest E. coli outbreak in history, which resulted in more than 143 million pounds of beef being recalled from a slaughterhouse in California.

The new rule will go into effect in August, and aims to build on public awareness.

The public will now be made aware as to where the tainted meat is being sold, so they can better avoid the infected products.

The USDA does not aim to scare the public, but hopes this will help control the outbreaks.
