According to a new report, the teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. has increased for the first time in 15 years...Boston (ChattahBox) – According to a new report, the teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. has increased for the first time in 15 years.

From 2005 to 2006, teenage pregnancies for teen girls aged 15 to 17 increased by more than 5,700 up to 138,920, from 133,138 a year before.

This 4% increase in the teen pregnancy rate has caused a major concern among health experts.

In 2006, 22 out of every 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 became became pregnant, compared to 21 out of every 1,000 in 2005.

This is the first time the teen pregnancy rate has increased since it was at 39 births per 1,000 teens in 1991.

This annual study was published by the Federal Interaging Forum on Child and Family Statistics.
