CDC Confirms E. Coli Outbreak Has Spread Beyond Ohio, Michigan

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has confirmed that the E. coli outbreak linked to ground beef has expanded beyond Michigan and Ohio, to 5 states in total.Boston (ChattahBox) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has confirmed that the E. coli outbreak linked to ground beef has expanded beyond Michigan and Ohio, to 5 states in total.

The CDC has stated that the outbreak, which was linked to ground beef from Nebraska Beef Ltd. has been confirmed in 3 other states including Kentucky, Indiana, and New York.

The E. coli bacteria strain found in the outbreak in Ohio and Michigan matches perfectly with the cases in those states.

As stated, the outbreak was linked to ground beef from Nebraska Beef Ltd., which was sold in Kroger stores in both Michigan and Ohio.

Nebraska Beef has, in total, has recalled over 5 million pounds of ground beef.

No deaths have been reported as of yet from the outbreak.
