A Pennsylvania mother accused of using salt water to try and poison her 4-month-old son, has been sent to a state mental hospital...Washington (ChattahBox) – A Pennsylvania mother accused of using salt water to try and poison her 4-month-old son, has been sent to a state mental hospital.

The mother, 21-year old Amber Brewington from Duck River, Tennessee, has been found to suffer from severe depression, and has been sentenced by Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning to spend at least 90 days in the Mayview State Hospital.

She has had a rough past, as she has been linked to having suicidal thoughts.

She was charged with attempted homicide when she tried to poison her young son, doing so by allegedly trying to inject his feeding tube with salt water.

She wanted to kill him to speed up his death and end his suffering. The boy remains in critical condition.
