The idea behind the warning is to try and increase awareness for those who love to text while they do a variety of things, such as ride a bike, drive in their car, walk, run, etc.

It is becoming very common for people to try and multi-task, by driving and texting on their cell phone at the same time.

Researchers have found though that injuries are increasing among those who try to text and walk or do other things at the same time.

Common injuries have people walking straight into polls, and tripping over curbs on the street.
