Estrogen Is Effective In Helping Women Fight Schizophrenia

A new Australian study has revealed that estrogen known as estradiol can help women protect themselves from, and fight schizophrenia.New York (ChattahBox) – A new Australian study has revealed that estrogen known as estradiol can help women protect themselves from, and fight schizophrenia.

This study, carried out in Australia, focused on 102 women who were all of child-bearing age. All of the women also suffered from schizophrenia.

The women in the study were followed for 28 days, with half the women receiving estradiol, while the other half received a placebo.

Schizophrenia is known for symptoms which include delusions, hallucinations, etc.

They found that the women to took the estrogen known as estradiol showed greater improvement in their symptoms.

It is also believed that estrogen can prevent schizophrenia in women as well.

The study has been published in the August issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.
