A new study has revealed that men in the U.S. are twice as likely as women to adopt children..........Washington (ChattahBox) – A new study has revealed that men in the U.S. are twice as likely as women to adopt children.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics released the information on Thursday, based on the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth.

Men in the U.S. between the ages of 18 to 44, were compared to women in the same exact age group.

Over the course of the study, they found that 2.3% of men in the U.S. has adopted a child, compared to just 1.1% of women.

Men accounted for 1.3 million adoptions by men, with women accounting for just 613,000.

The biggest reason given is that men who get a divorce are more likely to not have kids after the divorce, and may seek to adopt.
