Mitts Pleads Not Guilty To Recruiting Homeless For Insurance Scam

Estill Mitts, the 64-year old who reportedly recruited homeless people from Skid Row for an insurance scam conducted in L.A. hospitals has entered a plea of not guilty....Los Angeles (ChattahBox) - Estill Mitts, the 64-year old who reportedly recruited homeless people from Skid Row for an insurance scam conducted in L.A. hospitals has entered a plea of not guilty.

Mitts is facing charged of conspiracy, money laundering, among other charges.

On Monday, he entered a plea of not guilty U.S. District Court.

The prosecution stated that Mitts, who worked and operated a Skid Row health assessment center, recruited homeless people with drug problems, mental health problems etc. to go to Southern California hospitals for uncecessary treatment.

He would then set it up and give them oney, while he was making around $20,000 each month.

The hospitals in the case include City of Angels Medical Center, Los Angeels Metropolitan Medical Center, and the Tustin Hospital and Medical Center.

He is currently in home detention after posting a $25,000 bond, with a trial date is set for September 30th in the case.
