The FDA has approved very few treatments in the past to actually help treat adults with chronic ITP.

They have concluded though that the Amgen drug Nplate is both safe and effective to help treat this rare disorder.

The rare disorder ITP leads to blood clotting, with past treatments consisting of steroids, among other drugs.

The injectable Nplate works by helping increase production of blood platelets.

Two studies were carried out on Nplate, which revealed that with over 100 patients tested, the drug worked very effectively.
