California Hospital Workers Take Part In 24-Hour Strike
August 29, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - Thousands of hospital workers in California took part in a 24-hour strike this week against the Daughters of Charity Health System.
The strike, which kicked off on early Thursday morning and continued for 24-hours, was aimed at the Daughters of Charity Health System.
The hope was that the strike would get the Daughters of Charity to change how they do things, and would result in better quality of care for patients.
The strike was also to fight unfair labor practices among those unionized workers.
The strike was held at five different hospitals around the state of California including the St. Francis Medical Center in LA, Seton Medical Center in Daly City, Seton Coastside in Moss Beach, O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, and St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy.
