This weekend, the last weekend of the summer for many, will likely result in some disappointment for many hoping to go to the New Jersey shore.

The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident to see just how and where the medical waste came from, and then managed to wash up onto the beaches.

The beaches impacted by this are located in Ocean City.

This is just 15 miles north of Avalon, where a similar but unrelated incident took place last week.

The syringes which washed up on the shore caused 5 beaches to close.
