The Oklahoma Health Department came out late this week with the announcement that they have confirmed a total of 73 people have been infected with the rare E. coli bacteria.

Out of these 73 people infected, 50 of them have had to be sent to the hospital.

This news comes one day after they announced the first death from the E. coli outbreak, as a 26-year old man from Oklahoma died from the bacteria.

The focus of the E. coli outbreak has been on the Country Cottage restaurant in Locust Grove.

It is believed at this point that the source of the outbreak may be at this restaurant, as many consumed food there before falling ill.
