The idea behind the expansion of the Child Health Plus plan is to make all kids in the state of New York eligible for health insurance, so that they all have health care coverage.

This will be done by increasing the income eligibility threshold.

Those who do not meet the new setting though can still be eligible, they just have ot pay the full monthly premium.

Those who are now eligible with the expanded thresthold though can receive a no-cost health care package, or a reduced premium.

The expansion was announced by New York Gov. David A. Paterson, kids in New York, and aims to help all kids in the state.

The hope is that this will lead to an overall improved quality of care for the children of New York.
