Fish Oil Supplements Work Well Against Heart Failure

Boston (ChattahBox) – Italian researchers have put out a new report which states that omega-3 fish oil supplements are very beneficial to patients with heart failure.
The study, conducted by Luigi Tavazzi, Gianni Tognoni from the Mario Negri Institute, and ANMCO Research Center, looked at a total of 3,000 patients.
All of the patients had suffered from what is known as chronic heart failure.
For the study, half were given the fish oil supplements of omega-3, while the other half were given a placebo.
After a period of time went buy, 27% of those on the fish oil supplements died, compared to 29% in the group on the placebos.
Overall, it was found that the fish oil supplements cut the risk of death for patients with heart failure by 9%.
The study has been published online in the journal The Lancet.
