Study Shows No Connection Between Vaccine, Autism
September 6, 2008
Boston (ChattahBox) - Researchers from the U.S. and Ireland have put out a new study, showing no connection between exposure to vaccinations, and the development of autism, or gastrointestinal problems.
Scientists from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health’s Center for Infection and Immunity, the Massachusetts General Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, and the CDC focused on the vaccine and its possible link to autism, GI issues.
Researchers looked over 25 different children, all of whom had autism, and gastrointestinal problems.
They then focused their research on 13 kids with only gastrointestinal problems.
They took the data, and looked over them in a series of laboratories.
From the data, they determined that the measles vaccine was not linked to the development of autism, or any type of gastrointestinal problems.
The study was published in the journal Public Library of Science.
