Empty Your Wallet, Medicare Drug Premiums To Rise

Washington (ChattahBox) - Get ready to open your wallet a little wider, as there will be an increase in the premiums for Medicare drug coverage next year.
The consulting company Avalere Health LLC, based in Washington D.C., put out a report showing the increase expected.
They stated that the average premiums for elderly and disabled Americans will jump 24% in 2009.
Thish will increase premiums quite a bit for standalone drug plans, from $30 each month to $37 each month.
From 2007 to 2008, the Medicare drug premiums increased as well, but not by as much.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recommends that patients only get a plan that they really need, to save money.
Sign-up for medicare for 2009 is from November 15 to December 31.
