Researchers have confirmed that there has been a spike in the number of diabetes cases being diagnosed.  This is being blamed on the rise in oboesity in the U.S..........Washington (ChattahBox) – Researchers have confirmed that there has been a spike in the number of diabetes cases being diagnosed.  This is being blamed on the rise in obesity in the U.S.

Government statistics have shown that over the last decade, the number of diabetes cases diagnosed has doubled.

Diabetes is becoming common in the U.S., with the hardest hit area being the South.

Type 2 diabetes was the most common form, and is also the most preventable.

People can help prevent type 2 diabetes with a healthy lifestyle of a well-balanced diet, exercise, etc.

The government recommendation is to get 30 minutes of exercise daily, 5 days each week.

Breaking it down by state, West Virginia was at the bottom with the rate of diabetes at 13 per 1,000 adults.  Minnesota did the best with a rate of 5 per every 1,000 adults.
