Researchers have linked the disease fibromyalgia to areas of the brain that deal with pain.....Washington (ChattahBox) – Researchers have linked the disease fibromyalgia to areas of the brain that deal with pain.

The study was led by led by Eric Guedj of the Hospitals of Marseille. and was conducted on 30-people.

Researchers used a single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scans on patients.

They found a link between brain abnormalities, and the disease which researchers do not know much about.

The disease was linked to areas in the brain that dealt with processing pain.

It is believed that fibromyalgia causes the brain to respond to pain more actively, making patients suffer more.

The study was published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
