There is a group of physicians, patients and other interested people working together to get treatment with adult stem cells legalized in the U.S. as it should be. Please ask your family and friends to sign up ("JOIN"), and get as many doctors to sign up as well. See The American Stem Cell Therapy Association site at

"and a reduced need for those dreaded insulin injections"

While I welcome all forms of diabetes research, realistically this type of treatment is years away from being adopted. I have had type 2 diabetes for twenty years and I control my blood sugar with insulin. Insulin shots are largely painless and insulin is the most powerful tool we have in controlling diabetes. Unfortunately, people like you perpetuate the myth the that insulin injections are a bad thing.

What is bad about being able to control your diabetes to a point where your blood tests and indistinguishable from someone who does not have diabetes. What is wrong with limiting the possibilities of developing complications from diabetes. Not turning to insulin earlier in their treatment because of fear, deprives many people the opportunity to avoid complications. Trust me, I'd rather take four injections per day then be hooked up to a dialysis machine 3 days a week, or being blind, or have limbs amputated.

You need an attitude adjustment in stories like this one. Forget mentioning insulin, talk about reducing complications from diabetes with this treatment.
