Pfizer Inc. Offer Free Meds To Unemployed Americans

May 14, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc. has offered Americans who have lost their jobs since the beginning of the year a free 1-year supply of any of their medications that they have been on for at least three months.

The company, which manufactures such drugs as Benadryl and Viagra, has said that it wishes to do it’s part for the country as the recession creates more job and health insurance losses then ever.

“People are definitely hurting out there,” Pfizer Inc. head Jorge Puente, told The Associated Press.

“Our aim is to help people bridge this point.”

While many say this is a ploy to gain more influence and goodwill during a time that the White House says they will be working towards a more beneficial public health system, those who will benefit from this decision are not complaining.

As for Pfizer, they are hoping that this act of charity will help keep stock and purchase high in the long term, as they gain more loyal customers to their side.
