There are now 3 plutoids in our solar system, with Makemake joining Pluto and Eris.

Makemake marks the fourth dwarf planet and was discovered by astronomers in 2005.

They are under the belief that the top of Makemake is covered in frozen methane.

The three plutoids are now Pluto, Makemake, as well as a third object known as Eris.

The fourth known dwarf planet in our solar system is the asteroid, Ceres.
