Every hour starting Tuesday morning, there will be around 100 extremely bright and fast-moving meteors, or shooting stars going across the sky.

The expectation is that right after the moon sets, at around 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. on the East coast, it will be most visible.

The Perseid meteor is named as it comes from the constellation Perseus, and is an annual event.
