Rochester Zoo Mourning The Loss Of Their Polar Bear
September 2, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - The Monroe County Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, New York has been hit with a huge loss, as their 18-year old polar bear named Yukon has died.
18-year old Yukon had been sick over the course of the past few days.
Yukon could no longer hold on though, as he died in his sleep on Sunday.
The death is believed to be caused by an infection which was related to pancreatitis.
The infection reportedly spread to his abdominal cavity, but the polar bear lived a full life.
The typical life-span for a polar bear is around 20-years.
