Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas On Planet Mars
October 1, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) – It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Mars, as the Phoenix Lander has discovered falling snow from the sky above the red planet.
The Phoenix Lander made the discovery this week that snow was falling 2.5 miles above where it landed on Mars.
NASA revealed the news to the world in a briefing this week, as the Phoenix used its laser instrument to make the discovery.
This adds to the belief that liquid water may be present on the planet.
The Phoenix Lander dropped down on Mars back on May 25th.
Prior to this, its biggest discvovery was finding that ice is present on the subsurface soil on Mars.
The hunt is now on to see if snow actually hit the ground.
