Enough of their genome is mapped that we now know that pigmentation defects in Neanderthals (similar to but distinct from those in modern people of northern Europe) gave them fair skin and red hair. The picture above has an even fairer skin, which I can understand somewhat. Granted, I have seen the complexion of the bush people of Namibia, but I think that the entire story isn't being told. Why is it that I never see western African in the development of modern man? I sense some bias. Is the artist ashamed of Great Great Great Great.........Grand Mama and Papa?
