Stephen Hawking: You Don’t Need God to Create
September 2, 2010
(ChattahBox) – Stephen Hawking has long since been quoted by the religious who want to enter into a scientific debate because of his admittance that the concept of a god is a possibility, and that the discovery of the origins of the universe would help bring people into a great understanding of that force. But it looks as though this go-to argument may be over.
On September 09 his new book, cowritten with American physicist Leonard Mlodinow, will be released. ‘The Grand Design’ gets into the possible origins of the universe, based on his evolved and adapted theories.
Where ‘A Brief History of Time’ said that God was a real possibility, and one of many for the creation of everything, this new book specifically points to the lack of necessity for such a higher being.
“The Universe can and will create itself from nothing,” the Huffington Post quoted him as saying.
“Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist.”
