Scientists Believe That Silver May Cure Common Winter Viruses

October 17, 2010

(ChattahBox Science News) – Researchers seeking a “silver bullet” to kill stomach viruses, the common cold, and even influenza may have met their match, according to new scientific research reported in the UK Telegraph.

Scientists at the University of Ghent in Belgium grew a harmless bacteria—normally found in yogurt—in a solution of silver ions, then tested it against the norovirus, which causes bouts of vomiting. What they found was that the virus was no longer able to cause illnesses.Using the same technology, the researchers believe they could use the silver solution to eradicate other viruses, such as the common cold and influenza, the Telegraph noted.

Because the silver particles are attached to bacteria, they won’t spread throughout the body, which should assuage concerns from those who fear that silver could create health problems. The Belgian researchers are in talks with pharmaceutical companies Janssen and Johnson & Johnson to take the technology into further development.

This could help many illnesses…I have long believed that ME/Cfs is caused by an
infuenza virus…which stays in the brain in the central nervous system….causing
systemic problems throughout ….maybe this could help…hope so..have been looking for something like this for a long time…I would sign up now if its available to take.
Thankyou for printing this story…will pass it on.
