Ortiz Set To Make Impact As Red Sox Face Yankees
July 25, 2008
Boston (ChattahBox) - It took some time for him to get back in form, but DH David Ortiz is set to make an impact this weekend as the Red Sox face off against the New York Yankees.
The Boston Red Sox are hopeful that David Ortiz will be back to his old form as their DH this weekend as the Yankees come to town.
The Yankees are currently chasing the Red Sox in the American League East, and are hoping to grain ground.
The Red Sox have troubles of their own, as Manny Ramirez is currently hampered by a sore right knee as well.
The three-game set between the two teams starts in Boston tonight at 7:05.
The Yankees are currently 3 games behind the Red Sox, who are tied for first place with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Ortiz was injured back on May 31 in Baltimore, as he suffered problems with his left wrist.
This comes as the Yankees are talking about bringing in free agent home run king, 44-year old Barry Bonds.
