Jesse Ventura Asks: Why Isn’t Bud Selig Behind Bars?

February 17, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Jesse Ventura (shown left) has weighed in on the controversial steroid use in baseball, and he says it should be Commissioner of Major League Baseball Bud Selig on the chopping block.

His reasoning comes from the fact that Vince McMahon was indicted on distribution of steroid charges in 1994, after it was found that several wrestlers in the WWF, which he was heading at the time, were using the illegal enhancement drug.

“My question is: They’ve now determined 104 baseball players failed their steroid test in 2003—104,” Ventura commented.

“They indicted Vince McMahon, why aren’t they indicting Bud Selig? He’s the head of baseball, it happened on his watch.”

We thnk the question is a valid one: why isn’t Bud Selig being punished for allowing his players to go on playing, when the rules, and laws, were being violated? Shouldn’t he be held at least partially responsible for the actions of his players, when they have reached such shocking numbers of steroid abuse? Shouldn’t he at least be investigated fully, to find out if he was taking part in the cover up?
